The Rivers State APC has described the statement credited to  Senator Magnus Abe that he wouldn’t be supporting the APC guber candidate in Tonye Cole as laughable describing Abe and his supporters as those who have long ceased to be members of the APC.

This was made known to RPN by the state publicity secretary, Chris Finebone.
Abe had earlier on national television  had announced his decision not to support the APC guber candidate in Tonye Cole who he described  as an outsider who had never done anything for the APC, the Rivers State.
Abe had also accused Cole of collecting 55 million Dollars from the Amaechi administration, an administration in which Abe served in as SSG.
Responding, Chris Finebone dismissed Abe’s stance as laughable which was done to hoodwink people that he and his minority co-travellers were still members of the APC when they were not.
Finebone, pointed out that the same Abe was on his way to the Social Democratic Party, SDP, and was only seeking attention. He said that Abe ceased to be  member of the party when he sponsored  litigation that  resulted in the party not having a guber candidate in the 2019 elections.
On the alleged 55 million dollar payment which Abe claimed was made to Tonye Cole without his knowledge. Finebone dismissed such an allegation as fictitious stating that Sahara Energy is a corporate entity which can sue and be sued.
“The deal in particular was over the purchase of turbines belonging to Rivers State, a deal which met every benchmark of corporate governance that even when the Rivers State Government under Nyesome Wike in its attempt to witch hunt Rotimi Amaechi looked into the transaction, to its shame found nothing .”
