Guber candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State and Deputy Senate President,  Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has picked a former lawmaker representing Ndokwa East Local Government Constituency, Rt. Honourable Friday Ossai Osanebi as his running mate in the forthcoming Delta state gubernatorial election.

Omo Agege made this known n a statement titled: “RT. HON. FRIDAY OSSAI OSANEBI IS MY RUNNING MATE AND DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE OF OUR GREAT PARTY, THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) FOR THE 2023 DELTA STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION”.
In the statement, Omo-Agege described Osanebi as a “leader of impeccable character and highly competent political bridge-builder and unifier of people”.
This puts an end to all speculation on who would be Omo Agege’s running mate as he prepares to challenge the PDP ‘s hegemonic hold on Delta State. All things been equal, the APC candidate will be making his third attempt at Dennid Osadebey House with his chances looking very bright. Reasons are owing to the present state of disarray experienced within the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP . The emergence of the PDP’s guber candidate in the person of Sherrif Oborevowri has ruffled the feathers of a number of PDP chieftains who are not at home with Oborevowri’s candidature who they view as been imposed on the party by the present governor of Delta,  Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
There are also allegations of pejury against Oborevowri following discrepancies in his academic claims. Okowa’s  lacklustre performance in his second term and his perceived betrayal of the Asaba Accord may also dent Oborevowri’s appeal to the Delta state electorate.
