  • Obiano, Umeh and Oye Camps bitter with list
  • Soludo never consulted any major stakeholder in APGA- source

Okafor Darlington, Awka- Following the release of the transition list of the governor-elect of Anambra State. Professor Chukwuma Soludo, a number of stakeholders in the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA are said to be bitter with the choice of names that made the list, describing it as not representing the interest of party members who braved all odds to get  Soludo elected.

realpoliticsnigeria gathered that the various camps led by Governor Willie Obiano, Senator Victor Umeh and Victor Oye are reportedly angry with Soludo for not including them nor their nominees in the list.
For the outgoing governor, the list was indeed a slap on his face as he had nominated his Chief of Staff, Primus Odili as one of those to play a key role in the transition, Odili did not make the list. Same fate also befell the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu who by virtue of his position  is key to a smooth transitioning was also dropped at the last minute.
For the likes of Senator Victor Umeh and Chief Victor Oye, the non presence of their allies and loyalists is also generating enormous discord within the ranks of the party. A source disclosed that non of the duo’s nominations saw the light of day, an act seen as an affront to the duo who control a number of power blocs within the party.
The source also disclosed that numerous party members were not comfortable with the nominations of the likes of Osita Chidoka and Alex Ogbigbolu who were active with the PDP campaigns and should not have been rewarded with such.
” How can the likes of Victor Umeh and Oye be relegated while the likes of Oby Ezekwesili, Chidoka and Ogbiogbolu make the list. These are people who have never contributed anything of value to the party or even the guber ambition of the governor- elect, how come such a reward whereas those who toiled day and night are left out? “
But another source who did not want his name to be disclosed disagreed with the position of a majority of party members. The source stated that Soludo wanted a break from the politics of the past and wanted technocrats to give his administration direction. He wondered what the likes of Umeh and Oye would have to offer the incoming administration which he said was out to hit the ground running.
” There is joy in most quarters as Soludo is coming to make a break from the politics and style of governance that has been witnessed in the past sixteen years. The man intends to hit the ground running and thus his involving of these first class brains to help give his administration that filip needed to lead a state like Anambra. Tell me what will the likes of Umeh and Oye offer in such a commitee? This is not the time for politics, when the time comes the duo will obviously be included but for now what we crave is that this man be allowed to fulfil his campaign promises and bring his wealth of experience and that of these assembled technocrats to bear on the state’s development.”
There had been rumours that the governor-elect and the outgoing governor had fallen out over some salient issues. This had reportedly been denied by both Obiano and  Soludo’s media handlers, who denied any rift between the two.
