Magnus Igboayaka, Awka- It seems that peace may further elude the Anambra State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC as the acting chairman of the party in the state, Chief Basil Ejidike has taken a swipe on the Minister for Labour, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige describing his said leadership of the party within the state as having expired.
Chief Basil Ejidike said this while presiding over the expanded stakeholders meeting in Awka a few days ago.
Ejidike described the APC under Ngige as a social club and blamed the former governor for the failure of the party to win elections since the formation of the party in 2013. Ejidike stated that with the emergence of the leadership of Senator Andy Uba, things were going to take a different turn as the party would now focus on building harmony within the party to ensure that it was properly positioned to win any election.
He also assured members that the party would soon adopt a reward system that would recognize active and loyal party members who had been committed to the ideals of the party, instead of what used to prevail in the past where party members were largely ignored.
The highpoint of the event was the setting up of the disciplinary committee and the Congress Awareness Committees headed by Chief Chibuzor Obiakor and Hon Ralph Okeke.
The stakeholders meeting saw in attendance, party heavyweights such as Senator Andy Uba, Senator Margery Okadigbo, Senator Ikechukwu Obiora, Hon Ralph Okeke, Hon Nze Chidi Duru, Hon Afam Ogene, Prince John Emeka, Hon Jerry Ugokwe, Hon Chizor Obidigwe Hon Ifeanyi Ibezi, Hon Ben Chuks Nwosu, Dozie Ikedife Junior and Hon Timothy Ifedioranma.
