PDP’s Anambra Loss: Moves To Remove Peter Obi As Leader Thickens

Nkem Oranu , Awka – Following PDP’S loss in Anambra State in the recently held guber election. It has been gathered that a number of stakeholders in the party are rooting for a change in the leadership of the party in the state.

These stakeholders who blame the party’s loss in the recently held elections on Peter Obi’s management style and his alleged imposition of Valentine Ozigbo on the party want a change in the leadership of the state and see such as the beginning of a change in the party’s electoral fortunes.

Although, most stakeholders agree that the former Governor of Anambra has overstayed his welcome given the party’s losses in the last two guber elections where Obi had singlehandedly picked the two guber candidates who then went on to lose the election there are disagreements on how to effect such a change, and the manner in which such a new leadership would also function.

According to a school of thought who craved anonymity, a school.of thought wants the party to be handed to the original owners, the likes of Chris Uba and Olisa Metuh, while another faction within the party want the leadership to be in form of a collegiate, between a number of leaders and not under the control of an individual.

However, both sides asides from agreeing that there is need for a change in leadership, also agree that allowing for the prevalence of internal democracy in the party will also enable the party to function better and restrategise before the general elections.
