Anytime from now, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP will be losing two senators and a representative in Anambra State to the All Progressives Congress, APC. The senators being Stella Oduah, Uche Ekwunife as well as Chris Azubuogu.
realpoliticsnigeria.ng gathered this from sources close to these persons.
For example, recently one of Stella Oduah’s aides was seen within the APC State Secretariat meeting with some party leaders in the state.
For Senator Uche Ekwunife, it was however gathered that a number of top politicians in the party were not receptive to her entry following her exit before the 2019 elections which they saw as a betrayal of the party by the Anambra Strongwoman.
However, the feelers out there are that she would be accepted as the party needs people to help push its plan of having a firm foothold on the SouthEast region, also, the circumstances in which Ekwunife left the party in 2019 was beyond her control that had she won the election on the party’s platform, she would have lost the seat following a court ruling that invalidated her victory in the 2018 primaries.
Ekwunife, it is believed is still miffed at the way the PDP primaries panned out after producing a green horn in the person of Valentine Ozigbo. Ekwunife was said to be leading in possession of adhoc delegates before the switch to using super delegates in the primaries that produced Ozigbo. Even at that she has accused Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State for her misfortunes and believes that a move to APC is the best way to pay the party back in its own coins.
Azubuogu too is not wanting to be left out in the dumping of his current party, as he too is angry with the way amd manner he was schemed out for Ozigbo. Azubuogu, a three time rep member had gone from top contender to underdog owing to the many unfair hurdles that were placed on his way, if he gets a better deal with the APC, he may decamp within the next one month.
