Orji Uzor Kalu’s Associate, Edozie Madu Joins Anambra Guber Race

Nkemdili Onwuachu, Awka- An associate of a former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu and one time presidential candidate of the Independent Democrats, Edozie Madu today officially declared his intention to vie for the APC Anambra guber ticket to enable him contend for the November 6th Elections as the party’s flagbearer.

 

Madu, who is also a member of the Governing Council of AUDA- NEPAD made this known to members of the State Working Committee of the party ably led by Chief Basil Ejidike who serves as the party’s Acting Chairman.

 

Madu who arrived the state secretariat at exactly 3pm was received by the Ejidike into the waiting crowd of party men and women as well as supporters and mbers of the press. Describing himself as a grassroots politician , Madu defined his entry into the race as a mission to empower party members and better the lot of the poor. He called on party mbers to be vigilant and to ask a number of those vying about their performance in the past elections before wanting to contend for the party’s guber ticket.

 

In a short speech that was however laden and delivered with much passion, Madu noted that during the guber elections in 2017 and 2019 he had delivered the highest number of votes as well as helped grow the party and it’s attractiveness in his town and local government. He called on his fellow aspirants within the party to effectively market the party with the numerous strides of President Muhammadu Buhari in the state and the region as this was key to winning the Guber election.

Madu, our readers will recall is the founder of Independent Democrats, ID and it’s former presidential candidate in the 2019 elections but however stepped down for the incumbent, Muhammadu Buhari.

 

A known associate of Orji Uzor Kalu, Madu was also one time  Chairman Congress for Democratic Change.
