Says he needs to show respect to an office he is struggling to occupy…
Chudi Ndukwe, Awka- Following the allegation by the Senator Ifeanyi Ubah ( YPP, Anambra South ) that Governor Willie Obiano had obtained and mismanaged the sum of 25 Billion Naira from the Debt Management Office, DMO, the state government has adequately responded to the allegation by asking the senator to focus on his mandate in the Senate and not engage in bizarre forms of showmanship.
Speaking to realpoliticsnigeria.ng , the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Willie Obiano wondered why Senator Ifeanyi Ubah had abandoned his primary duties in the Senate to engage in puerile mudslinging against the Willie Obiano administration.
He dismissed the story of Governor Obiano obtaining or mismanaging the sum of 25 Billion as a figment of Ubah’s imagination asking him to focus on his mandate as a senator as sooner than later the people of his senatorial district would begin to ask for his scorecard.
” As Chief Press Secretary to Governor Willie Obiano, I must dismiss as false the story that the Anambra State Government did obtain as well as mismanage the sum of 25 Billion Naira, the story is untrue and is a figment of Senator Ubah’s imagination.
One would expect that Senator Ubah rather than delve into these fictitious tales, channel such an energy into working to deliver to the people of Anambra South a few of the numerous promises he made to his people when he was campaigning for the seat.
Ubah should understand that even if he wants to run for the office of Governor, he should at least attempt to present a befitting scorecard to his constituents from which the people of Anambra will then decide if he is fit enough for such an office. ”
Eze also adviced the YPP senator to also show some respect to the office of the governor, since it was an office, he (Ubah) had long been fixated upon.
” We also urge Senator Ubah to show some level of respect to the Office of the Governor of Anambra State, since it is an office he has long been fixated upon occupying. It smacks of bad politics and bad faith to seek to disrespect such an office at every turn and occasion, an office he dreams of occupying”, he said.
