This was made known to realpoliticsnigeria.ng in a statement put out by the Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Abdulwaheed Odusile. Odusile had stated that the implementation of the minimum wage increase was a fulfilment of the promise made by Governor Dapo Abiodun to the Ogun State labour movement, saying that it was a promise made and promise kept.
“The government of Prince Dapo Abiodun will always take the welfare of workers seriously, just as it is committed to the welfare of all residents and indigenes of the state,” the commissioner emphasised.
Odusile, however urged workers to be responsive to their duties to helping the Dapo Abiodun administration to deliver the Ogun State of our dreams.
Responding, the Chairperson, Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Ogun State Chapter, Emmanuel Bankole, described the payment of new minimum wage as commendable as well as a welcome development. He thanked the Dapo Abiodun administration for fulfilling its promise to the workers in the state.
