Haven won his reelection for a second term as Governor of Ondo State, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, has called on his enstranged deputy and the guber candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, Hon. Agbola Ajayi to resign from his position if he had any honour.
Agbola Ajayi had as Deputy Governor engaged in a supremacy battle with his boss before decamping to the People’s Democratic Party and then to Zenith Labour Party in which he ran for the office of governor in the recently concluded October 10th elections, where he squared off with Akeredolu and Eyitayo Jegede of the PDP.
Speaking to journalists after being presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni in Abuja, Akeredolu called on the deputy governor to vacate the post.
He stated that even if Ajayi does not resign, his days were numbered as a new administration will soon be sworn-in.
Akeredolu however noted that should his enstraanged deputy show some form of repentance, he would forgive him and receive him with open arms.
The Ondo governor also dubbed his “enemies of life” declaration where he had painted some prominent Ondo indigenes as his enemies for life as a political statement, saying that having won the election, he has no need to keep enemies.
“We (APC) went to battle united and it is clear that when we are united, no force can stop us. We went (to the election) and fought a good battle.”
He, then capped it with, “Ondo no be Edo.”
