Describe his Agricultural Institute As Recipe for Unemployment, Youth Restiveness and Crime.
Youths under the auspices of the Anambra Youth Solidarity Coalition Forum, a coalition of over 53 youth groups in Anambra yesterday commended a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Anambra, Engineer Johnbosco Onunkwo for his immense contributions to empowering the youths in Anambra State.
The youths, who were ably led by their president, Ekene Desmond Okudo, described Engineer Johnbosco Onunkwo’s economic strides as dynamic and what Anambra state really needs at this point in time.
Speaking, Okudo saluted Onunkwo’s “ steadfastness in ensuring that a number of youths in Anambra, notwithstanding his senatorial district, religion or status in life had been beneficiaries of Onunkwo’s programmes which had taken a number of these youths out of poverty as well as equipped these youths with the requisite skills to not only earn a daily living but also help train others, thus reducing crime and youth restiveness. “
Okudo, described as notable Onunkwo’s establishment of an agribusiness venture under the auspices of the Onunkwo Foundation Agribusiness Scheme in Orumba North Local Government Area. The venture which is in partnership with a number of farming cooperatives, of which many of these cooperatives are majorly populated by youths will see the cultivation and processing of over 500 hectares of cassava, a thousand hectares for rice farming and 100 hectares for snail farming by farmers from these cooperatives through payable loans and grants from Engineer Onunkwo.
This he said was tantamount to an agricultural revolution, which he said would translate to the employment of over two thousand youths directly and twenty thousand indirectly.

Responding, Onunkwo thanked the youths for the solidarity visit, stating that he was touched by the numbers who had shunned the weather to show solidarity. He also thanked them for their endorsement and promised to do more for them in the future.
